Owned by Teesside University, TUCAN is a unique and innovative commercial production studio operated by a core team of experienced staff. With a strong focus on virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), filmmaking, 2D animation, and 3D animation, we bring imagination to life through immersive experiences.
What sets us apart is our ability to bring together the wealth of experience possessed by expert academic and research staff from across the University with the immense talent of our graduates.

Located in the heart of the University campus we take pride in our unique position to bring together our academic staff, researchers and graduates from across the University to develop, create and innovate creative digital solutions with and for our external partners. Our collaborators include industry partners, Higher Education Institutions and organsiations from the public and charitable sector.
One of our core missions is to provide exceptional opportunities for our students. Every project we undertake offers a hands-on paid work experience, equipping our talented students with the necessary skills and practical knowledge to step confidently into the industry as accomplished creative professionals. In addition, our TUCAN Talent initiative supports our students develop their skills as a freelancer and harness their entrepreneurial spirit while they are studying with us.
