The Trail of Discovery
The Trail of Discovery is a location based heritage route built for the S&DR 200 anniversary. It links physical markers on the original Stockton and Darlington Railway line with a digital layer that includes AR views, a route map, key location information and short audio content. The system is designed so people can follow the trail on site or explore it remotely from home.

This project introduces a virtual reality training system designed to help people learn how to set up and run bioreactors without the cost or risk of working on real equipment. The system is built as a full digital twin of a 20 litre stainless steel bioreactor, with every valve, probe, and control panel ready to explore and interact with. Trainees use VR headsets to move around the reactor, learn each part, and practise real procedures such as steam sterilisation and pH probe calibration.
Created in Virtual Reality, developed in collaboration with the Cleveland Fire Brigade, represents a tool tailored for Gold Star Commanders. This innovative technology immerses users in several scenarios, simulating potential challenges that may arise on an active emergency scene. Unlike traditional training methods, this VR system involves the active participation of two users, allowing them to collaboratively navigate and respond to changing variables within the simulated environment. These dynamic variables ensure that each simulation is distinct for Gold Star Commanders.
